Job Summary:

The Quality Control (QC) Supervisor is responsible for leadership and results of the Quality Control Team. Provides support across multiple shifts performing Quality Control functions in Processing and Packaging environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with facility compliance for Federal, State, Governmental and other applicable regulatory laws and guidelines.
  • Assist with facility Food Safety issues, scientific and technical developments, and industry codes of practice.
  • Maintain, apply, and review for effectiveness all applicable GMP, HACCP, Organic, FDA, Kosher, SQF procedures and codes of practice. Assist with audits in these areas.
  • Supervise the Quality Control Team: Plan and communicate work schedule, break, and shift assignments for QC Technicians. Manage QC Technician time sheets and approve time off. Manage training requirements and schedule training for the QC Team. Work with to elevate the skills, performance and job satisfaction of the QC Team and individuals. Update and complete performance evaluations of the QC Team. Investigate, document, and report disciplinary issues involving direct reports.
  • Develop and implement QC data tracking and reporting processes.
  • Review and verify QC/Production records, logs and applicable documents.
  • Work as liaison between Quality and Production.
  • Manage Hold Incidents including sampling, inspection, documentation, disposition, and cost tracking.
  • Assist with production trials on new items, new materials and new equipment. Report findings to Research and Development and other relevant departments.
  • Investigate customer complaints and report findings to internal and external customers.
  • Conduct Corrective and Preventive Actions as follow up to internal audits, inspections, customer complaints, and Production non-conformances.
  • Perform any special assignments as required by the Quality Manager.
  • Work toward continual improvement of work processes, testing methodology, and process control. Seek out and implement cost savings and quality best practices.
  • Works overtime and weekends as necessary.

Education/ Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Business, or Engineering or Relatable work experience.
  • 2+ years of Quality and supervisory experience
  • Ability to find, read, interpret, and implement industry standard test methods.
  • Strong leadership.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Familiar with using tablets/iPads and applications. Manufacturing software experience is a plus.
  • Strong grasp of math concepts. Statistical Process Control is a plus.
  • Strong communication - verbal and written (clear reports and documentation)
  • Food manufacturing experience preferred
  • Analytical thinking and strong judgment skills Knowledge of Food Safety Regulations preferred

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year depending on experience
